inspiration from pottery barn

it's been a little bananas over at bneato basecamp this week. out-of-town visitors, mt. weddings and lots of work has kept me from keeping you posted. here's a little inspiration that always seems to inspire me to get organized (or at least find a home for everything). while these photos are highly styled and showcase every product, i like to pick and choose my fav elements (hooks, chalkboard walls and corkboard--lots of it)!

office snapshots... kinda awesome

we found out about Office Snapshots from our friend Meredith over at Penelope Loves Lists. the site takes you inside really really neat office spaces (most of them well-known). take a look around their site and gather inspiration for your own office set-up.

Motivation Found

Friday night (actually 4:30 am Saturday morning) I woke up and couldn't go back to bed.  Instead of wrestling with myself (and the covers) I decided to bring my laptop into bed and check out this blog that I mentioned on Friday.  There aren't a ton of posts up yet (3 pages worth) so it was a somewhat quick read to finish all of the content posted.  Her blog (among other things) is a great reminder to me that I should always be a  responsible consumer.  While I'm hard pressed to part with my money for most items (I am only human) and sometimes have a weakness for anything black or gray or navy blue for that matter.  Her blog posts also made me think of this post that I wrote about last week.  While pictures of cluttered rooms don't make me want to declutter, Confessions of A Shopaholic Hoarder made me want to pair down (the little that I own) even more.

Inspiration?

I was on tweet deck today and saw the following tweet from the show HoardersTV (retweeting a direct message from Metrozing). I clicked on the link because I was super duper curious...

The above link led me to this photo by Steve Pyke of Al Gore in his office.  I was already familiar with the image and have had similar experiences when working with clients.  After I've organized a client in their home, more often than not, I'll come home and want to go through/purge my own belongings...
And then I started thinking... when I was younger (way younger) I used to post pictures of models on my fridge.  My thought process was--if I see a picture of a model when I'm bored and want to eat--I will eat less (and stay healthy).  While it didn't really work, I wonder if photos of cluttered offices/homes are helpful to folks when trying to get organized?

Inspiration

Rows of ice skates

Stocked alcohol for a party

Scout Merit Badges

A little organizing inspiration goes a long way. Motivational pics before the start of any project are always a good idea. I found these beauties while searching on Flickr and turned them into polaroids. Celia (from Life According To Celia) does it with her pics from time to time (and I love it).
