Organizing Solutions... Better Homes & Gardens

I have bathrooms on the brain this week. Why is that the case, you might ask. On Saturday, I'm taking my first group of eager (and organized) individuals on a Field Trip to The Container Store. I'll point out my favorite organizing products and for this particular field trip--we're focusing on organizing the smallest space in the house--the bathroom! Here are some awesome storage ideas from Better Homes and Gardens (they overhauled their site recently and it's awesome). Be sure and check out all of BHG solutions for organizing the rest of your house:

field trip to... The Container Store

Why do I want to take a group of people to The Container Store?  Because it will be sooooo much fun!  When I visit The Container Store, I gain tons of inspiration from the in-store displays.  I've also found that it helps to see what size/shape containers are being used to store particular items.  I then go home (or to the thrift store) and buy similar containers to organize my belongings.  Of course The Container Store does carry amazing products--some of which I can't live without (and I'll definitely be highlighting those as well).  In addition to products, I'll be focusing on the right products to help you organize a bathroom.  Sign up here (space is limited).

Happy Labor Day!

Realistically speaking, I would love to be here or here today. If I'm daydreaming, my mind always goes here. But alas, I'm working on Labor Day. Enjoy this quick and quirky organizing video I made yesterday.

And I Wonder Where I Get It From...

While home last week, I snapped pictures of my parents house.  Mom has got some great organizing tools in place (and while most of us don't have the space to create such luxuries) they're fun to look at nonetheless.  I definitely get my organizing tendencies from my mom--and while it may be hard to believe, she just might be more of a neat freak than myself.
Closet rod in laundry room
Fold-up ironing board
My favorite--hairdryer and flat-iron plugged in and ready to go with a fan to cool you off while getting ready
Lazy Susan for the kitchen cabinet
Cookie sheets and cutting boards are easy to access
Spice rack (Belle peeking through)
Pots in a pull-out drawer (heaven)
No more bending over and looking for lost lids
