quick tip when organizing children's books

you are correct. this is not an image of children's books. but i was reading an article the other day on organizing kid's rooms and took away this awesome tip, "make it easier to put something away than it is to get it out." and now you're asking yourself, how does this relate to records?  instead of storing children's books on a traditional bookshelf (where kids can take usually remove them in one fell swoop), organize them like records in a store. grab a shallow tin pan or plastic container and store them front to back. that way, your child will have to flip through the books (making them hard to take out, but oh-so easy to put back).

  1. GENIUS idea! I love this.

I'm going to forward this link to my friend who'd recently complained her 4 yo was constantly making a huge mess of his books.

  3. I've been thinking about ways to make it easier to put back than get out all week... last night I came up with this one: put a piece of chocolate wherever I pulled something out, so I get a reward when I put things back!;) Only now I need to come up with extra exercise motivators.
