To prevent piles of credit card offers and other important papers from forming, have your shredder handy. That doesn't mean placed in the corner, no where near a plug. Place the shredder in the kitchen or where you pay your bills. If your shredder isn't a good quality, chances are--you're not going to shred. Having a shredder that works and is accessible will greatly increase your chances of shredding (which in the long run will save you time). Have you ever tried to get out from under someone stealing your credit? Me either but it sounds just awful (not to mention time consuming).
