Who's Bad?
I only have one piece of Michael Jackson history. It's his vinyl album, BAD. While some folks are trying to cope with the events of yesterday, others are scrounging to buy anything MJ. Records, t-shirts, buttons, and posters--I can't help but wonder what will happen to all those tchotchkes. I can understand wanting to have something to remember him by but I think there are better ways to reminisce his passing. Like laughing with friends about the first time you tried to learn (and perform) the Thriller dance to your family in the backyard one summer. Or the Billy Jean poster your friend had in elementary school that you coveted on a daily basis. Plus--Madonna's right, his music will live on (so there's no need to buy every thing he ever produced in order to hold onto your memories--they will always be there, right where you left them).
Labels:
BAD,
