Keychain Clutter

After much research on the subject, I found that having a heavier than normal keychain can wear out your car's ignition switch and lock mechanism (no bueno)! So how do you lighten your keychain load? First, assess your keys. Do you need all of them on a daily basis? Is each key still active or have you changed the locks and not gotten rid of the old keys? If your neighbor's spare set of keys is on your keychain--time to give them a new home. After sorting and processing your keys, determine which ones should be in your active category. Which keys can be labeled inactive or spares? Set those aside with labels and stow at your home's landing zone.

Key Ring Clutter

Just like we did with wallet week, I'm going to devote an entire week (September 20-25) to keys, key chains, losing your keys, key storage, etc.  In the meantime, take inventory of your keys--what's on that heavy key ring of yours?  Do you have a junk drawer filled with unidentified keys?  How many folks have a set of keys to your house?  Do you have a backup plan if you lock yourself out of your car or home?  Send questions or topics my way and I'll include them in a post!
