random lids (and one container without a lid--goodbye!)
organize your plastic containers (there's bound to be a handful without their lid). it will take all of 5-10 minutes (seriously). the bright side? it will save you tons of time when you're in the kitchen and looking for the right lid. plus, you'll probably stack them all nicely when you're done which will look (and feel) wonderful.
I've needed to do this for a while and this was just the kick in the pants I needed. Done. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI did this on Sunday! You wouldn't believe (or maybe you would) how many lids we had without containers. It has made a huge difference in our sanity in just a couple days!
ReplyDeleteAll my containers are stored with their lids on so that I can see at a glance if anything is missing. It takes up a little more space, but it makes my life a lot easier when I am looking for a container.
ReplyDelete@Keda--if you've got the room, go for it. Unfortunately, my kitchen doubles as a home office and the prime real estate has to be divided between office supplies and dishes.
ReplyDeleteOK, done it and also "updated" my system...
ReplyDeleteI used a couple of mesh bags to hold the non-stackable tubs (Body Shop Body Butter tubs - strong and great for freezing sauces but they don't stack. Aargh!)
Used another mesh bag for lollipop-mold handles, ice-cube trays and other random "plastic" stuff.
Took more than five minutes but SO worth doing.
I'm new to your blog - think I came to it from Penelope Loves Lists - and I'm loving all your wee tips and ideas. Mac Monday is fab.
