the tv stand dilemma

honestly, it's not even really a dilemma. basically, adam and i moved in together over 2 months ago. it was a mix of some of his furniture and mine. his dowry included the tv stand (not charming) and the really big flat screen tv (yessss). i had the best intentions last week when i ventured to the LBC flea market and returned with something that looks like this. unfortunately, it does not hide the kajillion cords in the least (even when they're organized, they look like a hot mess). fast forward to the present. adam's mom is in town and has generously offered to purchase a tv console. i've gone to pottery barn, cb2, crate and barrel (expensive) but kinda like this one from target. or maybe this teak/lattice one for a bit more... what say you? what kind of furniture does your tv call home?

  1. I like the lattice better..if you plan to put electronics in there it needs to be well ventilated...

  2. I've been lusting over the Manhattan one myself for quite some time. If you get it I will be extremely jealous. :)

  3. Ikea would be another good spot to check for this - furniture looks nice enough but the backs are that plywood-y stuff, so you can just drill holes right through for the gaggle of cords. That's what my boy and I ended up doing and it hides all of our dvds, gaming systems, etc. very nicely - he even installed computer cooling fans in the back wall of the console so the equipment wouldn't over heat. I think ours is from the BESTA line, which had a lot customizable options.
